TBG takes part in cyber defense simulation
From October 14 to 18, TBG participated in the Cyber Guardian Drill 6.0, organized by the Brazilian Army’s Cyber Defense Command. The event took place simultaneously at the Defense Academy in Brasília and at the Second Army Division Command in São Paulo.
The drill brought together representatives of key sectors in a coordinated effort to face growing cyber threats, holding constructive and virtual simulations.
Over the course of a week, representatives of critical infrastructure areas such as water, energy and communications worked together to develop strategic solutions and assess their defense capabilities against cyberattacks. The Cyber Guardian Drill 6.0’s activities are provided for in the National Critical Infrastructure Security Plan, setting a precedent for future national cybersecurity actions.
This was TBG’s second time participating in the event, which this year involved 140 organizations and representatives from more than 30 countries.
TBG was represented by teams from its compliance, information security, institutional communication, legal, information technology and operations areas, who responded in real time to simulated cybersecurity problems of varying levels of complexity. Some team members attended the event in person in Brasília, others took part in the virtual crisis room, and the communications team met in a crisis room at TBG’s head office.
The main objectives of the event were to foster interaction between partner organizations and create opportunities for each company to evaluate its internal processes and its responses to cyber crises.
During the three-day simulation, the teams were presented with 12 scenarios of varying complexity, including some based on real situations, and were asked to formulate their responses, based on real procedures at each company.
Next year, the plan is to involve other areas of the company.
