Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil S.A. (TBG) announces that Angélica Garcia Cobas Laureano was sworn in as the company’s new CEO today (December 30) in TBG’s head office in Rio de Janeiro. Gustavo Passos Elias was also sworn in as technical director. Financial director Henrique Andrade Trinckquel Filho and commercial director Jorge Roberto Abrahão Hijjar were reappointed to their roles. Their terms are for two years, ending on December 30, 2026.

During the ceremony, the CEO of Petrobras, Magda Chambriard, pointed out that Angélica Laureano’s professional career is marked by innovation, responsible management and the ability to build bridges between different areas, always with a focus on sustainability and the company’s growth. “These attributes are exactly what TBG needs to continue moving forward and playing a key role in the energy transition we are leading,” Chambriard said.

She added that Laureano’s appointment reflects Petrobras’ commitment to diversity and to expanding the role of women in the state-owned oil and gas company. Finally, she said that Laureano’s experience, strategic vision and passion for what she does will be “decisive for TBG to reach new heights of excellence and continue to be a pillar for the development of the Brazilian natural gas market.”

Regarding TBG, Chambriard said that the pipeline operator offers a reliable natural gas transportation service, essential for manufacturers, thermoelectric power plants, vehicles and homes. “TBG is not just an infrastructure operator, but a key player in the advancement of the Brazilian gas market. Its actions are strengthening energy security, promoting the energy transition and boosting economic development, consolidating its role in the energy sector,” she said.

In her inaugural speech, TBG’s new CEO said that the company’s biggest challenge is its growth plan. She explained that in the short term, the focus will be on making investments in pipeline safety upgrades and a new compressor station in southern Brazil, as well as reassessing new investments in expansion along the southern stretch of the pipeline and in Minas Gerais. “Another issue we need to explore is the energy transition. Natural gas continues to be an alternative for replacing other fuels, but we mustn’t miss out on opportunities to invest in the transportation of biomethane produced around our pipeline, which has the potential to be scalable,” she said.

Angélica Laureano has an undergraduate degree in metallurgical engineering from Rio de Janeiro Catholic University and an MBA in economics and business management from Rio de Janeiro Federal University Business School. She has 44 years of professional experience, including 21 dedicated to management in strategic areas of Petrobras, such as materials, supply, gas and electricity. She was a TBG board member for four years, between 2012 and 2016. She led Petrobras Gás (Gaspetro) between February 2015 and July 2017. For six years, between 2012 and 2018, she was a board member of GasBrasiliano S.A.

The ceremony was attended by Petrobras directors, members of TBG’s Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee and Statutory Audit Committee, and TBG executives and employees. After the event, there was a visit to TBG’s Supervision and Control Center, from where the pipeline is operated remotely.
