On Tuesday, November 19, we took part in the third round of talks at a workshop called “The Fuel of the Future and New Policies for the Oil and Gas Sector,” held by the National Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels Secretariat, which reports to the Brazilian Mining and Energy Ministry. The theme of this event was “Gas for Employment and Regulatory Harmonization.”
Our regulation manager, Robson Coelho, represented TBG and highlighted the company’s strategic role in the transportation of natural gas across an area of Brazil that accounts for more than 50% of the country’s GDP.
Main points presented:
- The Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline’s 25-year track record and strategic presence in the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul;
- Expansion opportunities
- Key factors for integrated natural gas transportation planning, such as demand and supply, integration with the power sector, coordinated logistics planning with distributors, and the use of new technologies.
Robson stressed our commitment to spearheading a new virtuous cycle for the natural gas market in Brazil.
