On the first day of the 12th edition of the Biogas Forum, which took place on September 2 and 3 at São Paulo Expo, TBG’s Biomethane Hub was the highlight of the “Espaço Arena” event space. The forum, of which the Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline operator, TBG, is a gold sponsor, brought together experts, companies and industry representatives to discuss trends, challenges and opportunities.

TBG’s new business advisor, Rafael Zonis, spoke on the “Success Stories” panel, sharing the company’s work in mapping opportunities, the key pillars of its biomethane transportation project and its future prospects.

“For biomethane to gain scale, transportation is the way forward. That is why we have structured an advanced conceptual design for a Biomethane Hub. We want to encourage biomethane to be injected into the transportation system. The sector regulator, ANP, is currently analyzing our proposed Biomethane Connection Agreement, and TBG stands ready to contribute to the growth of this market and enable producers to close deals with consumers along the pipeline network,” Zonis said.

The 12th edition of the Biogas Forum – the largest event of its kind in Latin America – sought to present biogas and biomethane as tools for climate policy and the energy transition, boost business opportunities, explore Brazil’s potential and address international market developments. It also discussed the domestic and international industry landscape and future trends, among other topics.
