In celebration of Women’s Month, on March 28 TBG held a talk called “Dignity and Respect for Human Rights in the Context of Gender Equality,” addressing the importance of equity and women’s rights.

Organized by the company’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, in partnership with the Internal Accident Prevention Committee and Social Responsibility Area, the event took place at TBG’s Campinas Maintenance Center and was livestreamed to other company sites.

The talk was delivered by Jacqueline Coutinho, a women’s rights specialist and ESG consultant, who discussed the evolution of Brazilian legislation and the challenges involved in tackling violence against women. During the event, she emphasized that matters such as safety, health, education and employment should be regarded as fundamental rights, not benefits.

The presentation highlighted important legislative advances, such as the Maria da Penha Law, the classification of femicide as a crime and recent laws that expanded protection for women, including legislation guaranteeing the right to a companion during healthcare visits and measures to support victims of violence.

As part of awareness-raising efforts, pins referencing the National Pact for the Prevention of Femicide were also distributed.

Fabíola Matos, TBG’s operational infrastructure project coordinator and member of the company’s Board of Directors, emphasized TBG’s broader efforts in this area. “This talk today symbolizes TBG’s commitment to raising awareness and promoting a culture of respect, responsibility and action to address violence against women. In this way, we reinforce this dialogue and extend its impact,” she said.
