TBG takes part in IBP initiative celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Part of the activities of IBP’s Gender Working Group, the event aimed to foster interaction between women leaders in management or executive positions with academic backgrounds in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and related fields) and female university students pursuing degrees in these areas. The initiative promoted dialogue on professional paths, opportunities, challenges and career prospects in the energy sector.
Through small discussion groups that enabled direct interaction, the executives and students explored topics such as professional challenges in predominantly male environments, strategic competencies, career perspectives and the future of women in technical and strategic fields.
Representing TBG’s female leadership, project manager Renata Sarmento and contract planning coordinator Daniela Muccillo highlighted the importance of events like this in encouraging young professionals who are beginning their careers in technical fields.
“I firmly believe that the future of women in leadership positions is not only promising but also essential and transformative. It is no longer a question of whether women will gain ground, but rather how they will reshape the field itself,” said Sarmento.
“The event was inspiring and an opportunity to demonstrate in practice that technical fields are also spaces where women can take leading roles. Initiatives like this are crucial to encourage young professionals starting their careers in this sector, strengthen their confidence and show that competence and dedication build solid and transformative paths,” said Muccillo.
TBG’s participation in the initiative is aligned with the company’s commitment to promoting diversity, developing talent and strengthening practices that contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive energy sector.
