On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, to celebrate Brazil’s Black Awareness Day, TBG’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee held a special chat with young people supported by “Living Wheel” (“Roda Viva”), (site.rodaviva.org.br/en/), a non-governmental organization dedicated to the development of low-income communities in the Tijuca region of Rio de Janeiro, focusing on the shanty towns of Borel and Chácara do Céu, through vocational training and complementary education.

The aim of the event was to give young people their first immersive experience in a corporate environment, offering them the chance to interact with professionals in different areas of activity and learn more about technical courses and career options. The moment was marked by a relaxed tone, with fun and enriching conversations that helped connect the guests with the company’s professionals.

The meeting was attended by 17 young people, aged between 12 and 24; three educators from Living Wheel; TBG managers, technicians and interns; and two guests from professional association Pipeline Brazil, Marcelino Guedes Gomes and Mária Oliveira. The young people also visited TBG’s Supervision and Control Center, where they were able to see up close how the Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline is monitored. This initiative reflects our commitment to social inclusion, broadening perspectives and encouraging people to value education as a fundamental pillar for personal and professional development.
