As of Monday, August 16th the Brazilian natural gas market shall have at its disposal the country's first multi-transporter digital environment: the Capacity Booking Platform (POC, in portuguese). The POC is a virtual space shared by TBG (Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolivia-Brasil), NTS (Nova Transportadora do Sudeste) and TAG (Transportadora Associada de Gas), which allows equal access by market agents to new products and services provided by the country’s natural gas transportation system, by means of Open Season for Existing Capacity, Incremental Products, Annual Extraordinary Products and Interruptible Products, in addition to the Short-Term Products that have been available since the second half of 2020.

This digital tool, which is a pioneering endeavor in Brazil, functions as a marketplace for the sector, bringing the necessary transparency and flexibility for the development of free trading, using a model similar to that in Europe, whereby several operators provide the most varied products and services to agents in the natural gas market, through integrated platforms, such as Prisma, that bring together in a single environment the capacity offered by a number of transporters.

The POC is a shared platform that, through the single registration of its users, is able to offer a simplified, bureaucracy free purchasing model that can be used at any time, from any location, thereby speeding up the transactions and promoting a more competitive domestic market environment. It is thus possible to register and purchase the products offered by the Transportation System, which integrates the various sources of gas supplies, including the Brazilian production basins (onshore and offshore – such as the pre-salt layer), Bolivia and LNG terminals, thereby enabling competition and transportation through a network of gas pipelines integrating states that account for more than 90% of the Brazilian industrial GDP.

Accessible from August 16th using the link www.ofertadecapacidade.com.br, the POC offers users an experience similar to that of the country's leading e-commerce platforms, supported by sophisticated modern software.

The partnership between TBG, NTS and TAG, agreed in July, provides for the sharing of the POC, with administrative, development, maintenance and operational co-participation in the digital platform.

Every five years, one of the companies will assume responsibility for the management, under a system of rotation, with the first manager being TBG, the creator and developer of this important marketplace.
