Natural gas is a fossil fuel formed from the settling and later transformation of organic matter under the Earth surface thousands of years ago. It is considered a less polluting source of energy. Because it is lighter than air, it spreads rapidly in the atmosphere in case of leakage. For this reason it is safer. However, it still dangerous, because it is flammable and may cause asphyxiation.
