Composed of welded steel pipes and buried at an average depth of one meter, the Bolivia-Brazil Gas Pipeline transports natural gas from Bolivia to Brazil, running through the Brazilian states of  Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
The Gas Pipeline lies within a 20-meter wide plot of land, properly signposted and delimited, called right-of-way. It transports large volumes of natural gas, operating at high pressure.  As it approaches the urban areas, the pressure is reduced and the natural gas is delivered to the local distribution companies, through TBG’s city-gates, in an integrated system of gas transmission.
